Sherri-Ann Bennett ~ Flexible Strength & Stretch

Monday -Wednesdays -Fridays 12:00-1:30pm

This class is a longer class designed to provide a well -designed, science- based workout for working persons over their lunch break.  (Hint we know you can’t always make it exactly on time or sometimes have to leave early.) Instructor is an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer.

 

Here is Sherri Ann~ MS, CPT Certified Health Coach in her own words:

‘My personal wellness mission statement is to live my best and healthiest life.  This means not just in the area of fitness, but all aspects of health.  My career passion is to help other lives their best lives possible and achieve health and wellness in every aspect of their lives.  Within the fitness aspect of health, I believe that if you are going to take the time to exercise, you want to make it count.  Move smart, use good form, and get the biggest benefit from your efforts.  That takes a science-based approach, which is why I have spent the last 3 decades working in the fitness industry to help people get the most out of their exercise.  

 

Title: ‘Flexible Strength and Stretch’

This is a 1.5 -hour class designed to help you build core stability, muscle strength and endurance, and flexibility.  With some interval training infused into the class, there will even be modest cardiovascular benefit.  All fitness levels can achieve an appropriate workout, as modifications and enhancements are offered for various exercises.  The class is science-based and movement patterns with good form are emphasized.  This will be a great opportunity to learn and grow in your fitness knowledge and repertoire, as we will use various pieces of equipment.

Personal Trainer & Fitness Instructor ~Jeffrey ~ check out his video

I was raised in Homer and grew up playing sports and rock climbing.  I Joined the Army and discovered my passion for physical training by assisting fellow soldiers who could not meet the basic physical training requirements.  Life took me from basic training to Afghanistan, which was a challenging time; I learned a great deal about mental fortitude and the power of positive thinking.

In 2014, I received my NASM certificate and began my first job as a Personal Trainer.  I quickly developed my own skills and learned from all the other trainers around me, as well as from my clients.  In 2016, I took over the fitness department for the company I worked for.  In 2017, I was asked to move the club and take on a crew of 18 trainers.  My team grew from 18 to 25 over the next few months.  In 2018, I was asked to move to one of our other facilities to setting up the fitness department and training the staff.

Throughout all of my time as a personal trainer, I have been blessed with people that challenge me every day.  I have seen many people achieve amazing goals.  I am looking forward to sharing my experience and knowledge as well as learning from others as a Bay Club Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor.

Zumba With Winter

Come meet Winter Marshall-Allen, mother of 2 and Special Ed Teacher at Homer High.  She is new to homer and will be teaching Zumba at the club starting May 7th.  She started teaching Zumba in 2013 and found it is a great way to exercise through movement and to release stress.  She says "Dancing is a universal way to have fun. I welcome everyone to join us." Tuesday 6:45-7:30pm, Friday 5:30-6:30 & Saturday's 11:30-12:30pm

Pilates With Kristen 

Come join the Saturday Pilates class from 10:00-11:00am.  Pilates has been shown to  improve flexibility, build strength and develop control and endurance in the entire body.  It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.
